Sandro’s ability to conceptualise fire safety strategies for the built environment is his greatest strength. Working closely with key decision makers including the relevant authorities; Sandro’s approach involves establishing fundamental design requirements at the outset of the project that can then be later detailed with the full support and confidence of the relevant stakeholders.

Sandro’s background is with the Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Services Board (MFESB), Melbourne. The role provided a solid grounding in all respects of Fire and Life Safety design with particular focus on the Emergency Services Role as well as an enhanced perspective of fire safety philosophy that is both holistic and mindful of all facets of fire safety within our society.

EXPERTISE
Garry is a leader in performance-based design with expertise in undertaking fire, evacuation and computational fluid dynamics modelling and fire protection as per Australian Standards. Utilised software, includes Evacnet4+ (Evacuation Modelling), FAST version 4.1.3 (Fire & Smoke Transport Modelling), Flow 3D Phoenics, FDS3 and Smokeview (Fluid Dynamics Modelling).

Garry is conversant in all facets of fire protection including fire sprinkler, fire hydrant, fire pumpsets, special hazards, hose reel, emergency warning systems and detection systems design. Garry is also fully conversant with the use and requirements of relevant Australian Standards, Building Code of Australia, Factory Mutual (FM) and NFPA requirements.

Garry’s experience is not only Australia wide but has undertaken a number of large international projects utilising Fire Engineering. His experience covers a wide range of building types including residential, industrial, office, amusement, warehouse, aged care facilities, hospitals and shopping centres..
